I'm probably not much different than you or the people you work with , I've worked in retail/service for many years and recently took the oportunity to stay home with my new son ( 2 years old now),work a little and finally be able to write about some things I've grown increasingly passionate about over the years. My wife is an asst office manager and does well enough to see us through and we've also been smart with our money. My point is we couldnt be anymore "joe-six-pack" as Bill Clinton likes to call the workin man. I prefer " average joe" myself. I tell you these things about myself no there is not any confusion of who I am or what my motives may be in starting this blog.I am not perfect,my wife and I have both been married twice before and are well aware of the issues that arise, everyday, for the average American that have maybe not always made the best choices in life...in short what I want first and foremost is to tell you that a "conservative" is not the "wall street" capitalist, although I support capitalism strongly, also I want you to know Im not a racist as conservatives are often stereotyped.Lastly I want you to know that even though I support tax cuts for ALL americans, I am not a rich man myself...or anything even close to rich. I want to dispell the myths the sixties brought out about conservatism. Now these days , because of our two party system we are forced to articulate conservatism,as it relates to day to day government through the republican party. This is unfortunate because they are as beholden to "special interest as the democrats are but this doesnt mean we cant affect REAL CHANGE for the better. The reason the "parties are beholden to special interest is because " we the people" dont exercise our right and obligation to "self-government" and therefore dont give politicians any reason to be beholden to us.That is where we will start and throught this ,ever so important election year we will reclaim our government and ensure true freedom for generations to come.
